What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a site places on your device to remember information between page views and sessions. Related technologies — such as pixel tags, local storage, and device identifiers — perform similar functions and are covered by this policy. This policy sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains the broader handling of information on VIXChart.com.
Categories of cookies we use
1. Strictly necessary
These cookies are needed for the site to load correctly and for core features to work. They include cookies set by our embedded TradingView chart, ticker, news timeline, and economic-calendar widgets so that the widgets can function within the page. Strictly necessary cookies do not require consent, but you can still block all cookies in your browser — the site will still display text content, but chart widgets may not render.
2. Analytics
We use Google Analytics (property G-H55MFZDTMN) to measure how readers use the site in aggregate. Google Analytics sets cookies to distinguish unique users (for example, _ga, _ga_<PROPERTY-ID>) and to store session information. We use the resulting data to identify popular content and errors. Analytics data does not identify you as an individual, but in some jurisdictions it still requires your consent; in those jurisdictions, analytics cookies are not set until you agree to them.
3. Advertising
We use Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google and its partners may set cookies that:
- Serve and display ads on the site.
- Measure ad delivery and report it to advertisers (for example, how many people saw or clicked an ad).
- Apply frequency capping so you do not see the same ad repeatedly.
- Where you have consented and your region permits it, personalise ads based on your browsing activity across websites.
These cookies may include the Google DoubleClick DART cookie and other identifiers set on Google ad domains. Google publishes its advertising practices at policies.google.com/technologies/ads and its overall privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
Third parties that may set cookies on pages you view
- Google AdSense and other Google advertising services — see Google Ads policies.
- Google Analytics — see Google privacy policy.
- TradingView widgets — see TradingView policies.
- Google Fonts — serves font files; see Google privacy policy.
How to control cookies
You have several layers of control.
Consent banner
Where the law requires it (for example, in the EEA and the UK), non-essential cookies are loaded only after you have given your consent via the cookie banner on your first visit. You can change your preference at any time by clearing cookies for this site and reloading any page; the banner will reappear.
Browser settings
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies globally or per site. Help pages for major browsers:
Ad personalisation
You can adjust or turn off personalised ads using the controls published by the advertising industry:
- Google Ads Settings — google.com/settings/ads (turn off ad personalisation across Google).
- Digital Advertising Alliance (US) — aboutads.info/choices.
- Your Online Choices (EU / UK) — youronlinechoices.com.
- Network Advertising Initiative — optout.networkadvertising.org.
Browsers also commonly provide a Do Not Track signal or a Global Privacy Control signal. Where the law requires it, we honour GPC signals as opt-outs of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information as defined under California law.
Opt out of Google Analytics
Google publishes a browser add-on that disables Google Analytics measurement on any site you visit: Google Analytics opt-out.
Impact of blocking cookies
Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent the TradingView chart widgets from loading correctly. Blocking analytics and advertising cookies will not affect the educational content of the site but will affect what we can measure and may reduce the relevance of the ads you see.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy as the cookies we use or the law change. Updates are posted here with a new "Last reviewed" date.
